 Being totally new to the Top Spin series, I really didn't know what to expect when firing up the XBOX 360 version of Top Spin 3. After about an hour of play, I have really begun to appreciate the intricacies of this well-made game. I have to admit that I have no tennis experience whatsoever. I have watched it on TV in the past, but never played it myself, or played a video game based on it.
(Confession: The "main draw" to me watching tennis in my youth was to stare at tennis Hall of Famer Gabriella Sabatini..the raven-haired Argentinean smokin' hottie who retired in 1996..but I digress...) Anyway- so let it be said that I'm an extremely casual tennis observer. The good news is that 2K Sports has a very in-depth training mode that teaches you the fineries of playing the Top Spin 3. Believe me, that's a good thing, because it also teaches positioning and recovery after a shot, which has trained me not to be the "charge the net" fool I was in my first attempts at exhibition games. The training mode teaches you how to handle shots (both forehand and backhand), positioning, serves.. you name it. (Serves are my weakness right now. I'm very shaky with my placement. Need more practice. I also need to work more on post-shot positioning recovery.)

NBA Live 09 Community Event

Thursday June 26 , ConsoleSports attended the outstanding community event for NBA Live 09 at EA Canada....
The event gave us the chance to literally grill the producers and development team on the game, which we did for a period of roughly 10 hours !!!
During the event, we also played the game hands on, and gave feedback which we understand may result in some changes/tweaks before the game ships.
The whole day resulted in a tonne of information......
EA have asked that we refrain from writing about the game or its features for a few days but be sure that as soon as we get the “go ahead” from them, we will post as much information as we can !!!!
I would also like to thank the EA team and the other community leaders for making the event fun, informative and eye opening !!!!

Consolesports is attending this event Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (June 25-17)
That means today and tomorrow is you' last chance to submit questions you would like to ask the games development team.
I have spoken with EA who stressed that we will have the oppurtunity to ask a colossal amount of questions..... so if you have concerns over visuals, gameplay or any other bball queries, let them be known in the forums asap !!!!

This evening, I'll be representing Consolesports.net on the Madden Community Conference Call at 6pm EST. Madden Lead Designer Ian Cummings will also be on the call. Hey guys, Yuri B. here again for yet another year of awesome video game football on the PS2 and Xbox. For those of you who don't know me, I'm one of the designers working on this year's version of the game we all love, Madden Football. Wow, so it's hard to believe that it's been 20 years since we made the first Madden Football. It's equally hard to believe how much the game has evolved during that time and how much the PS2 and Xbox have participated in that evolution. Having said that, you've probably seen some of the recent hype and praise for our Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii brethren and it's all rightfully deserved. Officially the torch has been passed to the new generation of consoles, but for those of you still hanging on to your PS2's and Xbox's, don't' worry, we haven't forgotten you! No doubt most of you are probably asking, "So what the heck can these legacy gen versions possibly offer me?" Shockingly enough, these old girls still have a lot of life left in them, so let me just put those fears to rest...with Madden Football 09 I'm confident we're going to blow your expectations out of the water! Not only have we added a whole slew of new features to all of our existing modes, not only have we added some graphical enhancements, but we've also made improvements to the gameplay which I guarantee will change the way you play the game.
