The NBA Live 09 website is now officially live! To go along with the new site, you will find a new producer blog with NBA Live 09 producer Brian Ullrich.  Also, as a reminder the NBA Live 09 Community event will be happening next week, so keep checking back to ConsoleSports.net for info.  If you have anything you would like us to check out while out there, feel free to post your questions in the Consolesports.net forums .

"Hello- this is Brian Ullrich, producer for NBA LIVE 09, here to tell you about some of the things we've been working on for LIVE 09. The team has been busy this year improving the game, building new features, addressing issues and suggestions from the community, and generally putting together what I think is going to be a fantastic game.

I've been answering some of your questions in the weekly Q&A that Marcus has been running, but now we are ready to start telling you about everything we are doing for NBA LIVE 09. The Q&A has been good, but I know there have been lots of times where I wanted to tell you about something cool in LIVE 09 and just haven't been able to. Now we are ready to talk almost everything. I say "almost" because there is one really big thing we aren't quite ready to talk about yet- we will be making a big announcement about NBA LIVE at E3 this year, so be sure to look for that in July.

Over the next few months the producers on the team will be coming on to tell you about their features and parts of the game, so I would like to introduce them here:"

The most popular and top-rated basketball game seven years in a row* gets even better this year

New York, NY – June 6, 20082K Sports, the sports publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), today announced that 11-time NBA All-Star and 2008 Defensive Player of the Year Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics will be featured as the cover athlete and spokesman for this year’s most highly anticipated basketball video game, NBA 2K9.  After leading the Boston Celtics to the greatest single-season turnaround in NBA franchise history, Garnett will lend his unmatched passion and on-court intensity to provide dedicated fans with the most fun and riveting basketball simulation experience available.

“NBA 2K is where it’s AT!  End of story,” said Garnett, who is currently playing in the NBA Finals against the Los Angeles Lakers.  “It’s the game I play, the game my friends play, and the game anyone in the league serious about videogames plays.  NBA 2K is the real deal, and until 2K Sports find a way to plant an elbow in your chest, it’s the closest thing to actually being there on the court.  I can’t tell you how pumped I am to be on the cover of NBA 2K9 – it’s a real honor.  Now watch out! Because this fall 2K Sports and I are going to deliver the best basketball video game out there, period.“

Garnett was drafted out of high school in 1995 from Farragut Academy (IL) and has redefined the forward position as one of the most talented and versatile players in NBA history. Known to fans by nicknames such as “The Kid”, “The Big Ticket”, or “KG”, Garnett is the only player in NBA history to average at least 20 points, ten rebounds, and five assists per game for six consecutive seasons. He has also been voted MVP (2003-04); named to 11 All-Star teams, nine All-NBA Teams and nine NBA All-Defensive Teams; and, this past season, named NBA Defensive Player of the Year

“Kevin Garnett is one of the most popular and skilled players in the NBA today, and he represents everything we love about basketball.  He’s a charismatic leader who is truly passionate about the game, and plays his heart out every time he steps on the court,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K.  “With KG’s ongoing support and invaluable input during the development process of NBA 2K9, dedicated 2K Sports fans will be treated to a host of exciting new gameplay features and upgrades this year for an even deeper and more realistic basketball experience than ever before.”

Developed by 2K Sports’ Visual Concepts studio, NBA 2K9 is not yet rated by the ESRB and will be available this fall for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, and PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. For more information, please visit www.2ksports.com

*The NBA 2K series developed by Visual Concepts outranked competitors based on GameRankings.com average scores of 2001-2007 NBA video games.

College Hoops 2K6 vs. 2K7 vs. 2K8

Thursday, 07 February 2008
As I have been playing College Hoops lately, I knew that 2K8 was different from the past couple renditions and I couldn't quite figure out what it was. I know the animation system is different and I wasn't quite sure if I liked it or not. Also, I think the graphics are good, but I seemed to remember that College Hoops 2K6 graphics were even better.

So, I went to class today and classes were cancelled due to weather and while I was stuck in the parking lot trying to get out with my gas gauge on E, I started thinking what I was going to do with my night. After I got out of the damn parking lot and got some gas, I decided to stop by my local EB Games and pick up used copies of College Hoops 2K6 and College Hoops 2K7 and compare them to College Hoops 2K8.

Here's the conclusion that I've come to so far..
