Consolesports is attending this event Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (June 25-17)

That means today and tomorrow is you' last chance to submit questions you would like to ask the games development team.

I have spoken with  EA who stressed that we will have the oppurtunity to ask a colossal amount of questions..... so if you have concerns over visuals, gameplay or any other bball queries, let them be known in the forums asap !!!!

The NBA Live 09 website is now officially live! To go along with the new site, you will find a new producer blog with NBA Live 09 producer Brian Ullrich.  Also, as a reminder the NBA Live 09 Community event will be happening next week, so keep checking back to ConsoleSports.net for info.  If you have anything you would like us to check out while out there, feel free to post your questions in the Consolesports.net forums .

"Hello- this is Brian Ullrich, producer for NBA LIVE 09, here to tell you about some of the things we've been working on for LIVE 09. The team has been busy this year improving the game, building new features, addressing issues and suggestions from the community, and generally putting together what I think is going to be a fantastic game.

I've been answering some of your questions in the weekly Q&A that Marcus has been running, but now we are ready to start telling you about everything we are doing for NBA LIVE 09. The Q&A has been good, but I know there have been lots of times where I wanted to tell you about something cool in LIVE 09 and just haven't been able to. Now we are ready to talk almost everything. I say "almost" because there is one really big thing we aren't quite ready to talk about yet- we will be making a big announcement about NBA LIVE at E3 this year, so be sure to look for that in July.

Over the next few months the producers on the team will be coming on to tell you about their features and parts of the game, so I would like to introduce them here:"

Official ConsoleSports.net NBA Live 08 Review

ImageOK, I have NBA Live for about month now and it’s really taken me awhile to come up with this review.  It should be noted that I thought EA’s basketball games have been absolutely atrocious for the last couple years and were virtually unplayable. I have gone on record to say that the last couple years of NBA Live and March Madness have been the worst basketball games that I have ever played, but then I played the demo of NBA Live 08 and then got the full version of NBA Live 08 shortly there after.

While I don’t think NBA Live 08 is up to the level of the NBA 2K series, I do feel that Live is heading in the right direction.  I really like how tight the controls are and the fact that I feel like I am in control of my player.  It’s also pretty fun playing in the post and using the R-Stick in order to make moves in the paint.  Now, I do think that it is a bit too easy to score in the paint as I’ve had some dominating games down low with Antonio McDyess.  Anybody that knows the Pistons knows that Dyess is no spring chicken and really can’t dominate down low, but maybe that can be fixed in Live 09?  Oh, and can we have the shot and dunk button be the same button as well?

ImageI’m not quite ready to write a full-on review of NBA Live 08 yet, but I did want to drop some more of my thoughts of the game down on here.  I had a chance to explore the game a little more and there’s some cool things that I found in the game.  I mean, nothing too huge or anything, but things that help the overall experience.  You’ll also have to excuse me if a couple things that I mention have been in previous years of the game, I found the last two years games to be rather disappointing and couldn’t even play them.  This year is different, though.

Hot Spots

I do like the addition of the “hot spots” this year and I like the fact that you can view each players hotspots (while not in a game) and that some players have vids of their signature moves.  Pulling up the hot spots graphic while in the game is a great way for some of the more casual fans to learn what a players strengths and weakness are on the court.  It can be a little cumbersome to pull up the graphic with the LB button, but once you get used to it it’s not that bad to pull up
