I can finally reveal some of the details from the NBA Live 09 community event.
There is huge news to follow in Part 2, which I understand I will be able to post after E3, but for now this will have to wet your appetite !!!!
The community event gave us the oppurtunity to get an extremely in depth look at the new game, with the producers present to walk us through, answering questions along the way and ample “play time” with an early version of the game itself so that we could get a feel for what EA are trying to achieve and give our feedback on what we thought could be improved/added to the finished product.
For starters, the game has a complete new engine to that of its predecessors, with EA citing that great emphasis has been placed on completely revamping the core gameplay. The producers made it very clear that they weren't at all happy with Live 08 and felt it very necessary to rebuild the series from the ground up for this years title, something I felt was evident right from the outset.
The first glimpse we got was the pre menu screen where last year you could take a player of your choice and practice shooting/dunking etc on an empty court. This time round, it is set in the NBA academy (one of the new in game features). The academy is two practice courts decked out in the team of your choosings colours. This time round, there are other players on court along with coaching staff and some other cool items too......I will talk more about the academy feature a little later.....

Thursday June 26 , ConsoleSports attended the outstanding community event for NBA Live 09 at EA Canada....
The event gave us the chance to literally grill the producers and development team on the game, which we did for a period of roughly 10 hours !!!
During the event, we also played the game hands on, and gave feedback which we understand may result in some changes/tweaks before the game ships.
The whole day resulted in a tonne of information......
EA have asked that we refrain from writing about the game or its features for a few days but be sure that as soon as we get the “go ahead” from them, we will post as much information as we can !!!!
I would also like to thank the EA team and the other community leaders for making the event fun, informative and eye opening !!!!
