I came home from work today and there was a nice little surprise waiting for me on my kitchen table, it was NBA 2K8 for the 360. I have only played about two games so far, but I will say that it feels like I've never put the game down and that's a good thing. It feels like the typical NBA 2K series game, but I really like the flow better so far. You can't just walk into the paint and expect dunks, and Superstar players play like Superstars in crunch time. On thing i did notice about the animations is that you can't branch out of them. I found that the CPU controls my players a little too much at times and causes them to make moves that I didn't initiate. Maybe it was because I haven't played the game in awhile and have to adjust to subtle nuances of the control scheme again? I don't know, but it's not that big of a deal, it's just something I noticed.
There's no halftime highlights this year that I could tell, but they go through the stats and then at the end of the game they show a few highlights. On top of that, you can view all the players "signature replays" where it will show you a good amount of plays they were involved in, even rebounds!
The crowd sounds awsome and the graphics look darn good as well. I want to hop into the Association to see what these player personalities are all about, but that's going to have to wait until tomorrow.
Keep checking back to the ConsoleSports.net forums to read more impressions.
