 IGN voted NHL 08 Sports Videogame of the year in their Best of 2007 edition.
"It's a shame that there's been such a sharp downturn in hockey's popularity, because more people should know that this game is the best hockey game EA's put out since the vaunted NHL '94. With a greatly-improved dynasty mode and a game that actually feels like real hockey, there wasn't a sports game that was even in the same league as NHL '08 this year."
