Consolesports will be attending the EA NBA live 09 community event on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th June in Vancouver.
NBA live 09 is rumored to incorporate huge amounts of new features and tweaks including the possible return of a certain former number 23 from Chicago to basketball video games!
I have to admit that personally I am a huge fan of the 2K version of BBall, so EA are going to have to come up with something pretty darn good to sway me on this one !!!!
I wanted to get a topic going for hoop fans who may have some questions they want answered during the community event........
I will try to put as many of them to the 09 development team as I can so long as I can get them to talk !!!!

Milo, please tell me how the ball physics are. They have been TERRIBLE in the past.
I know damn well you like the 2K series, so please check on how the Live series is coming along.

Also, I'll get you a graphic for the front page and make sure to sent out an e-mail about the event as well.

Will this year's NBA Live 09 have authentic arena music to each team, chants such as Deeetroit-Basketballl etc? Also who are the commentators? Are the Visuals and Gameplay more smoother this year as well? Will they try to use the ESPN Presentation since EA have the rights to use it?

bigdawg, I'm going to move this over to the Community Event questions thread so Milo can find this easier. He will be checking out the game tomorrow.

Milo, can you work down low in the paint and tell me how effective it is? I thought it was too effective last year and the rebounding mechanism was terrible.
It's like the players would either let the ball hit the floor before going for the rebound or just lack any aggressiveness whatsoever.

I hear you on that one buddy.....
We both want to see clear differences between players who play a low post game to those who in reality don't ......I will do my best to check that one out along with the rebounding.

These are definitely on my list........ I am a big visual/audio presentation fan myself so I am looking foward to what I hope will be some great additions this year !!

I'm just saying, bang down low with some of the scrubs in the league and see how effective you are.

***I'm with you guys- the post moves were just too damn powerful last year. I think there needs to be a post-move rating, with some guys simply terrible at it.
***Also, like Craig said about the rebounds, rebounding seemed too AI controlled and random.
*** there needs to be some kind of total-control/lead passing, so you can push the directional stick during the pass and lead a guy a certain direction, or throw to the open hand/shoulder on a post up. This would work better than the current system of the game deciding for you.
***Pass-reception animations- need some. The ball still kinda "warps" where it needs to be on passes. It was better in 08 than in 07 by leaps and bounds, but still needs some work. What's been done.
***Any hope for classic teams? Gimme Detroit '91 and let me name them myself.

I'd like to know if NBA Live/March Madness share a central gameplay team similar to NCAA/Madden.
Also, have they added (mo-capped) a lot more animations for their basketball titles? This seems like something people didn't like in either Live or Madness - just not enough or not fluid enough animations.
Like mentioned above, I'd love to hear what they've done to the rebounding mechanics.
Thanks and have a fun time!

Chris, I spoke to Milo on the phone a couple times today and stressed for him to look at the rebounding and ball physics. Plus, he's a pretty intense NBA fan and plays the hell out of the 2K series, so I think we'll get some great feedback on the game.

Great! Can't wait to hear what they've done....this is a huge year for the EAC basketball titles, IMO.

Especially the March Madness series consider it's our only option!
I really hope they stepped it up this year considering I'm more of a college basketball fan and loved the Hoops series.

I heard from Milo a little bit ago. I guess they got a lot of time at EA Canada yesterday. I think he has to wait a little bit for his full impressions, but he should have a little bit up today.
